Ceramic Rocks

2019 - ongoing

This work is a study of rocks from the Cardrona River. My ceramic rock making stems from concerns around human impact on the ecology of our precious lakes and rivers, and what this means for our future
.

To make the work, I ‘borrowed’ rocks from the river - I return the original rocks back where I found them. Although a small gesture, I believe that small things accumulate to make big change.

a collection of slip-cast ceramic rocks, created using molds taken from stones gathered from the Cardrona River. These works preserve the texture and form of each stone, capturing a moment in the life of the landscape. By transforming these natural objects into ceramic, I explore themes of permanence, memory, and the shifting relationship between humans and the environment.

Each piece is a reflection of the land—grounded in place, yet altered through process—offering a meditative, tactile experience that invites quiet contemplation of nature’s subtle details and enduring presence.

Enquires welcome.
